She is resting peacefully in Windsor, between the caulked walls of Adelaide Cottage. Kate Middleton underwent scheduled abdominal surgery on January 14, 2024 and his convalescence period is beginning. She will not appear publicly again until after the Easter holidays and, in the meantime, the British people are worried. Not only the way Buckingham Palace communicates about his health brings back dark memories for somebut the medical records of those close to the Princess of Wales could also be a source of anxiety.

The Middletons, unfortunately, often experience tragic ends, as the magazine reminds us Paris here in its edition of February 7, 2024. Buckingham Palace specified that the mother of George, Charlotte and Louis (10, 8 and 5 years old) did not have cancer… Perhaps because, precisely, among her loved ones, several died from it. On November 19, 1975, her aunt Mary was struck down by breast cancer at the age of 51. His great-grandfather Frederick had suffered from the same disease, localized to the pancreas, and died from it.

A heavy medical liability

Among the Middletons, illnesses were diverse, numerous and often dramatic. Kate's grandfather Francis died of a stroke at age 64. Jane, her great-great-great-great grandmother, died of tuberculosis at the age of 50, on April 23, 1845. This same disease killed three other members of the following generations. Stephen Charles, the princess's great-grandfather, suffered from asthma and bronchitis and died in 1938 at the age of 52.

Although we still do not know its true nature, the operation undergone by Kate Middleton was nevertheless “perfectly rolled out“. Her husband, the prince William, had to cross out certain lines from his diary to be able to stay at his bedside, while taking care of the three children – with the help of her mother-in-law Carole and the nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo – and in taking over from his father, Charles III, who was suffering from cancer. We can only hope that the heavy silence surrounding Kate's case does not hide a terrible truth…
